Lab Reopening
It’s finally here! Both IRL and the IRL2 will be reopening
(starting with the IRL within the next few days.)
We have made some considerable changes to our space in order to keep our Maker community as safe as possible in these times.
The first big change is that lab visits will be by reservation only.
*for the time being
With your reservation you will get your own workstation and you can reserve a toolkit for your table. If you do not feel comfortable working in the space or are working on a large project then we also have tool kits for checkout.
Many of our machines will be operated by staff only, but as of now you will still be able to request laser cuts, vinyl cuts, 3D prints, etc. for pickup.
There will be hand sanitizer and wipes located around the space and masks are expected to be worn at all times. We also have tape on our floor designating high to low risk areas. We know that some of these changes limit the ability to socialize with fellow makers and get creative ideas, however we are working on ways to keep our creativity and community going virtually.
Despite all of these precautions we believe that you will still be able to make almost everything you were able to make pre-COVID-19. We are excited to see you all back happy and healthy ready to get back to creating!
