Potato Stamps

Running out of easy craft ideas to do with siblings and friends?
Classic potato stamps are an oldie but a goodie.

Create some great new designs for cards or fabric.

Supplies:

Potatoes

Knife

Cookie cutter

paint or ink pads

Step 1. Cut potato in half

Step 2. Choose a cookie cutter to make a shape or draw on the potato free hand.

(I chose an acorn cutter and did a free hand star to show examples of both styles)

Step 3. Cut the edges and then cut enough clearance to make sure only the
design touches the paper when you stamp

Step 4. Dry of the potato with a paper or hand towel.

Step 5.  Depending on the material you are applying these designs to, you can apply fabric paint, finger paint, or typical ink pads.

Step 6. Stamp away!
