In preparation for the Chicago Toy and Game Fair (ChiTAG), industrial design student Tina Alkayed has been prototyping and play testing her game at the IRL. Her game, "Attempted Murder", is a strategy and cooperation-based card game, where you work together to fulfill item and survive catastrophic events and scare off any crows that take your items away.

In our everyday lives, we often underestimate the hidden costs associated with the technologies we rely on. While artificial intelligence (AI) offers incredible benefits, it demands significant electricity and water resources to power the data centers that support it. To address this disconnect, our project features both a physical art installation and a digital component that highlight the environmental costs of technology. Our primary deliverable is an interactive art installation that integrates water, digital media, and user engagement. This thought-provoking installation effectively connects an abstract environmental challenge to a tangible and impactful visual. Viewers gain insight into how their routine digital actions contribute to the depletion of vital resources, such as freshwater.

The acoustic levitator does exactly what it sounds like, it makes things levitate using acoustics (or sound). It has a wide range of applications in various fields such as crystallography and cellular biology, but we just like to see what we can make float 🙂#IRLMADE
